I have been speaking to a few people over the last week so, all employed by corrective services, and from what they tell me if you make it to the interview, unless u really stuff that up, you are going to the academy.

But im not going to take their word for it, still going to treat it like any other job interview and make sure i get the job

Well today is interview day, considering it got booked in almost 3 weeks ago, the time has gone pretty quick.

my interview is at 2pm, but i have to be there no later than1:15 to have my fingerprints taken, have some ID checked all that sorta stuff that happens in corrective services. Might even have to have retna scans cause they are starting to get those scanners installed at some prisons

What a long day...

My interview was suppose to be at 2pm. Had to be there at about 1 to fill in some paperwork, get fingerprinted and provide photo ID, then on to the interview

So im sitting in the foyer waiting, the guy that was there before me goes in, then the guy that go there after me goes in

end up in the only 1 left, thinking i got my days wrong i started to get a bit nervous.

Then a guys comes over "sorry mate we are running behind we will be with you shortly" he says
there where 2 lots of panels doing the interviews and I was going to see the 2nd panel.

so at about 3:15 i go in for the interview, it lasts abit over an hour with all sorts of questions and sceniros.

now wait about a week or so to see if I got a job

Geez i tell ya what. They put the pressure on with the scenario questions.

You have to go step by step with what you would do depending on where you where posted at the time.
eg: yard duty, in a tower, prisoner escort etc

a couple of the scenarios ended up that way but other where like this,

"what would you do if you go offered a sum of $$$ to get a mobile into a prison"

"what would you do if while escorting a prisoner, that prisoner took a swing at you and you managed to dodge it"

all depends on your definition of minimal force.......

one king hit....a KO.....is minimal force......not a full on punch up......thats excessive force......

shooting someone is minimal force to, it doesnt take much force at all to pull a trigger, far less than king hitting someone LOL

Well its been 2 and half weeks now and havent heard anything. They said if i didnt get a call with in a week i should expect a letter with 2, and yet i have neither.

So i ask a few people in the know and rumor is they have put a hold on all employment for corrective services. So it looks like on monday I will tryin to call them and find out what is going on.

Oh well, the waiting game contines, go gov. depts.
