Here we go, i found the cord, ok stacey found the cord.

here are some pics of the tyres, Goodyear Wrangler MTR's with Kevlar, new design only released in Oz this year. Price $390 a tyre fitted, plus $12 a tyre for replacement warranty. If i bust one i pay a pro-rata replacement fee for a new tyre. Eg if i rip one open and its non-repairable and its 30% worn then i only pay 30% of the replacement cost.

they are really good on the road, very quiet, well very quiet for an agressive muddy. Off road they are like the simex's they just keep digging till they find grip, and they have pleny of that. I rate them highly.

They look good Mat.
I have had two sets and never had a drama with them.  Been over the desert twice with them with out a flat.
I have a set in the shed to go on the 80 when the BFG's wear out in 265/75x16.
Can't wait to get them on.

they look like biased tyres......
they have an inside and an outside........looking at the tread.....which forces you to mount them with the white writing
on the outside......

its free advertising for them.......cos you pay for it all.......they should be giving those away........

a bit cheeky i think.......

anyhows......they are a really good tyre and wont dissapoint........
the first few mm of tread wear pretty quickly.....then the wear slows down a lot........

and if you dont abuse tyres too much on road by braking and cornering hard.......they will last even longer......

i was also gonna add accelerating hard......then i remembered its a tdi........

I actually dont mind the white lettering, breaks up all that black. but some steel wool removes it pretty easy if you dont like it

steel wool wont remove it....... its actually white rubber molded under the black......

if you do a lot of touch parking against gutters......you end up with white wall tyres......

I thought the asymmetrical tread pattern looked kinda wierd on the pics I saw earlier but they look good on
your rig.

Just replaced my STT's on the Patrol with 285/75 R16 MTZ's. Cost me $310 a corner from Tyre King, Baulkham Hills.

thats a top price Dave, the cheapest i found for the MTZ's when I looked for the 265/75's was $320. Im glad i bought the MTR's though, they are wearing well.

most of the mud tyres with the deep tread seem to wear very quick at the start......
then they slow down and seem to last forever after that........

what actually happens is......the tread blocks actually compress from the weight of the vehicle.....
and its not really a guide as to how long they will last......but it will make you think that at this rate.....
you will need tyres again in 30,000kms.......
